Today, many people have digital cameras and enjoy taking pictures. In my country, Korea, most young people have their own homepage in cyberspace and they like to share their life with many people by uploading their pictures. For this reason, many people want to have a digital camera. Also, they wonder what camera is the best choice for them. One of the choices is to buy a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera or just a diffuse camera. If you really love taking pictures and you have the intension to spend some money on this hobby, you can buy a DSLR. However, if you just like to take pictures and you are a beginner, I would recommend high-end cameras such as the Canon G6, Nikon Cool Pix 8800/8400, Olympus C-8080wz, Sony Cyber Shot F 828, and Minolta A2. High-end cameras have many abilities like DSLR, and they are not very expensive. If you buy a DSLR, you need many kinds of lenses, such as a telephoto lens and a wide-angle lens. These lenses are very expensive and high-end cameras have very high quality lenses, so high-end cameras can be a better choice for people who want to take pictures as a hobby. After you decide to buy a high-end camera, you will want to know which one of them is the best. I cannot answer that easily because people have different needs in a camera, so the most important feature can be different for different people.
Also buying a camera is a difficult problem because they are not cheap and people will use them for a long time. However, many camera users on websites for digital cameras are arguing over the Cool Pix 8800 and the Cyber Shot F828. Many of these users say their camera is better than the other one. However, I want to recommend buying the Coopix based on comparing the design, the features, and the price of Coopix and Cyber Shot.
The first consideration I considered was the design, including the shape and the weight. Both designs of the Coopix and Cyber Shot are very stylish and very convenient to use. They have modern black bodies and a good-feeling grip, but Coopix has a magnesium alloy body, so it is light and strong against impacts. On the other hand, Cyber Shot has a shape like the letter L because its lens is able to turn to upper and lower instead of having a turning monitor, and it has a Joystick-style controller. Also, it has a more imposing shape than the earlier models. I think that the shape is the best feature of the Cyber Shot. Both of these cameras have a fascinating design, so I cannot say which one is better in design. The second aspect of the design I considered was the weight. The Coopix is just 680 grams including a battery and the weight of the Cyber Shot is about 832 grams, including the battery. This is a weakness of the Cyber Shot. Also, the Coopix is smaller than the Cyber Shot. Its size is 116 x 85 x 121 mm and the size of Cyber Shot is 134 x 91 x 156 mm. For that reason, Coopix can be a better choice, especially for women, because its light weight is more convenience for women when they take pictures.
The next, more important point I considered is the features of the Coopix and the Cyber Shot. Both of them have excellent features among cameras. Both have more than 8.0 million effective pixels, 2/3 inch sensor size (Charge Coupled Device type), and diverse ISO (International Standards Organization) rating and format. The difference is that Coopix puts its focus on the telephoto ability, so it has 10 times the telephoto zoom and 4 times the digital zoom. It is better than 7 times the zoom in the Cyber Shot. However, the Cyber Shot has a good video system. It has high resolution and can record a maximum of 13 minutes, so it has simple abilities as a camcorder. Its ability of recording is better than Coopix. Coopix also has video capability, but you can record only 60 seconds. However, cameras are basically for pictures, and Coopix has a vibration reduction feature, which is a very high class setting for expensive cameras like DSLR. It is the best feature of Coopix that is unlike other common cameras. Therefore, Coolpix is a better choice for people who want to take pictures easily.
Last, we cannot ignore the price because digital cameras are not cheap. Most of Sony’s cameras have a big problem because of their expensive memory stick. The price for a 512 megabyte memory stick is about 100 dollars, but you can buy a 2 gigabytes Compact Flash (CF) card for the same price. Sony uses their own memory stick to save images. This is different from other companies. Canon, Nikon, and other cameras use a CF card and a Secure Digital (SD) card that are compatible and cheap. A good feature of Cyber Shot F828 is to use the CF card with a Sony memory stick; it is just one model that can use the CF card among all of Sony Cyber Shot cameras that use just Sony memory stick. However, besides most of Sony’s accessories, the body of Cyber Shot is also expensive. I compared the prices of the two cameras on Amazon, and the Cyber Shot was 1,399.99 dollars and Coopix was 1,199.99 dollars. Although their abilities do not differ much, Coopix has a cheaper price than Cyber Shot. In other words, if you buy Coolpix, you can buy the same level camera at a cheaper price.
In conclusion, Coopix is a better choice than the F828 after I compared them in the design, the abilities, and the price. Although both designs are splendid, Coopix is smaller and lighter. Also, both of them have excellent abilities because they are high-end cameras, but Coopix is more economical because of the price of the body and accessories. Most cameras have good and bad points, and they are not perfect.
Therefore, it is not easy to choose a digital camera, but if you need to make a decision now, Coopix can be a good choice for you. Because of the reasons above, I believe firmly that you can be satisfied with Nikon Coolpix 8800.
